Our staff consists of orthodontic assistants and office coordinators who are well-trained professionals, providing the finest individual care, and dedicated to serving our patients.

Whether you are a child, teen, or an adult, New Braunfels Orthodontic Associates, under the leadership of Dr. Larry Layfield, provides the clinical experience and a caring staff to ensure thorough, comfortable, and results-oriented treatment. We are looking forward to exceeding your expectations!

Team Members

BettySchedule Coordinator

Betty has been in the dental field for over 23 years. She has helped manage several offices and helps her husband with his painting company. She is passionate about her job because she enjoys helping people and meeting new faces. Betty moved to the hill country after growing up in the city, best decision ever. Her circle of friends have become family even though they do not have the same bloodline. She enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters, two handsome grandsons and amazing husband. She and her husband like to travel
with friends, playing shuffleboard, spending time outdoors and taking care of her plants.

Fun Fact: She plays shuffleboard for a nonprofit charitable organization to help the local community.

DarleneOffice Manager

Darlene is a native Texan, grew up in Conroe. She has worked many years in the orthodontic field where she has filled almost every position. Darlene and her husband Jim have three grown married sons and have been blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren. Besides spending time with her grandchildren, Darlene enjoys cooking for her family, spending time at the river, traveling and shopping in Gruene.

Fun Fact: Darlene is the youngest of ten children.

DesireeDental Assistant

Desiree was born and raised in Seguin, Tx. She has been a RDA since 2015,she joined Dr. Layfield’s team soon after her certification. She loves helping patients to achieve their dream smile. She loves spending time with her family,game night and playing volleyball.

Fun Fact: She loves to DIY, creating awesome stuff with her Cricut and cuddling with her pomeranian, Roxie.

RoseTreatment Coordinator

Rose, a native to New Braunfels is our Treatment Coordinator and joined the NBOA team in 2013. She has been in the dental field for 33 years as an RDA. Rose enjoys establishing the initial relationship with each new patient, making them feel comfortable and at home.

In her spare time Rose likes reading, biking, listening to music and going on walks.

Fun Fact: She is a song bird that loves dark chocolate.

ElizabethDental Assistant

Elizabeth received her RDA in 2014, and has loved every second of it! She has been blessed with her son, Zaden. She likes to read, go to the beach and spend time with her family on the weekends.

Fun Fact: She is a certified scuba diver and very comical and doesn’t even know it.

StephaniePublic Relations Coordinator

Stephanie is our Marketing Coordinator. Although Stephanie has a degree in Child Development, she has been in marketing for fifteen years and enjoys the creative side of her job. She loves planning the in-office games, buying fun prizes for our patients, and visiting with our referring dental offices. Stephanie and her husband Tim of 34 years have five children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a beautiful grandson. Stephanie and Tim homeschool their 3 younger children.

Fun Fact: Stephanie loves to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys hiking, reading, kayaking, and traveling.

KelliDental Assistant

Kelli has been a RDA since 1996 started in general dentistry and moved on to orthodontics in 1997. She has been a clinical coordinator for 20+ years and a lab technician working with 3D models to make retainers. She loves being part of the orthodontic field, loves building relationships with her patients and their families;my goal is to make every patient comfortable and happy to be here!

Fun Fact: Kelli is from Dr. Layfield’s home town. Loves Mexican food, movie night, fishing at the river with her 3 kids and husband and the outdoors.

MariaSchedule Coordinator

Maria joined our practice with 25 years of dental experience. She was born in a tiny west Texas town with the most beautiful sunsets. Maria and her husband have been married for 25 years and have two daughters one of which serves in the US military. Maria enjoys reading, live music, hiking, kayaking and all things in nature.

Fun Fact: She has hiked in 34 national parks.
